Georgia Gets Some Big Recruits In Football 2015 Class.

Trent Thompson, the 5-star defensive tackle from Albany’s Westover High School, committed to UGA over Alabama and Auburn last Tuesday. That was a big deal in Georgia, because for the second year in a row they landed the states top recruit. Receiver Jayson Stanley of Creekside High School in Fairburn announced his commitment last Saturday night. Rated a four-star prospect, Stanley (6-foot-2, 198 pounds) dedicated his commitment to his late brother.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Jonathan Ledbetter, a 4-star defensive lineman from Tucker High School, announced his switch from Alabama to Georgia this past Saturday night. Georgia was around 10th in recruiting rankings before Thompson committed but now the are 5th according to the latest rankings out by 24/7 sports. Those rankings could soon change again if. top prospect recruit DE Josh Sweat commits. Sources are saying that defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt a making a big push for Sweat Georgia also got four-star OL Patrick Allen and three star JUCO RB Chris Carson a couple weeks ago too.

The only setback in recruiting was Rico Mcgraw who flipped from Georgia to Alabama, claiming he was just more impressed with Alabama facilities than Georgia’s. With Ledbetter flipping from Alabama to Georgia. it’s almost like these two schools are competing for the same recruits.   Either way I’d have to say that the month of August has been big for the Dawgs future in football.

Georgia’s win over LSU impresses recruits

Georgia’s impressive win over No. 6 LSU on Saturday couldn’t get any better, especially with the top recruits in attendance.

One of Georgia’s top 2014 recruits were present in the stands, offensive tackle David Sharpe (Jacksonville, Fla./Providence School). Sharpe, a ESPN 300 15th-ranked prospect overall, went home very impressed after the 44-41 win over the Tigers.

“The Georgia visit was great,” Sharpe said via text. “It was a great game, great atmosphere and a great win.”

At the beginning of the season, the Florida Gators were in favor to land Sharpe but Georgia got in the way.

ESPN Junior 300 Chuma Edoga (Powder Springs, Ga./McEachern High) was suppose to be in attendance but said via twitter that his mom made him stay home to finish school work. Edoga tweeted; “This is gonna be game of the year #LSUvsUGA.”

Five-star defensive tackle and Georgia commitment Lamont Gaillard (Fayette ville, N.C./Pine Forest High) described his experience on Sunday.

“CRAZZZYYY!!! I couldn’t even hear myself talk,” The No. 12-ranked prospect in the ESPN 300 said. “Georgia did what they had to do to get the win, and I’m glad I was there in person to see that.”

Georgia offensive line commit and No. 110 overall in the ESPN 300 Isaiah Wynn left a response on his Twitter that shows no doubt he is all Georgia. “Next officials after this weekend: UGA, Georgia, and University of Georgia. Lol”

ESPN Junior 300 wide receiver Tavin Richardson (Duncan, S.C./Byrnes High) took a trip to the game and was super stoked.

“It was a once in a lifetime feeling!” Richardson said via text Saturday night. “Because it was a big conference game for the two SEC teams, everybody was into the game…and it was a real college experience game.”

LSU To Host Auburn Tigers

The LSU Tigers host the Auburn Tigers in Death Valley, along with three five-star recruits who will be in attendance.

LSU is favored to win by 17 points, so the recruits are in to see an impressive performance by LSU. Leonard Fournette out of New Orleans’ St. Augustine High School, is said to be the best running back in the country and the best back since Adrian Peterson. Fournette has his choices narrowed down to two, Alabama and LSU. Everyone expects him to choose LSU over the Crimson Tide.

Laurence Jones, of Monroe (La.) Neville High School is an outstanding five-star safety who is deciding between Alabama and LSU as well.

Five-star wide receiver Malachi Dupre, of New Orleans’ John Curtis School has offers from just about any school but is leaning towards LSU. Word on the street is that Dupre is the best receiver in the country. Dupre’s teammate Kenny Young, who is a four-star linebacker will also be in attendance.

2014 OT Benjamin Knox decommits from UF

Three-star offensive offensive tackle Benjamin Knox announced on Tuesday that he is decommitted from the University of Florida.

Rivals has Knox at a three-star while ESPN has him at a four-star and ranked the No. 269 player in the country. Knox committed to Florida during Junior Day back on Feb. 16 2013.

“At this very moment I am decommitting,” he told InsidetheGators.com’s Blake Alderman in a text message. “Reason why [is] because I haven’t heard from them in a month.”

This marks the fifth prospect who has chosen to decommit from the program. The Gators also lost a four-star linebacker Christian Miller (Columbia, SC), who is the 58th ranked player in the nation, on May 17.

Donovan offers one-handed guard walk-on spot

Due to a birth effect, Alpharetta, Georgia high-school guard Zach Hodskins has no left hand or forearm. Seems pretty crazy right? Well, yeah… But its even more crazy how he can still play just like anybody else. Hodskins appeared at a camp in June and was named the most impressive prospect by a recruiting site. Florida Gator head coach Billy Donovan offered Hodskins a preferred walk-on spot. According to sources at Yahoo news, the offer proposed by Donovan would guarantee Hodskins a place on the team without a full ride scholarship starting in the 2014-15 season.

However, there is still no official word yet whether or not Hodskins will take the offer or not. But both the university of Alabama-Birmingham and Birmingham Southern have considered offering him a scholarship.

For the ones who haven’t heard of Hodskins, check out his video below.
